Batchelor Residence December 2006/Remodel and Design Fireplace

Design goal was to modify the fireplace to accommodate the art work and to create a back drop for the art. The side columns now appear taller and the center is now wider than before. The cove molding and details were done in a antique gold with the air brush. Black Veneziano added the depth and marble shine for a rich elegant look. The demo included removing the unadorned half rounds and the top shelve. The vertical inner trim was removed to widen the space. The lower crown was widened to increase the mass of the mantel.
